A Happy Father

Nothing made my father happier this year, I think, than when I unexpectedly handed him a hardcover of my book.

I told him I had a surprise for him. He said, “It’s a book.” I said, “Yes, I wrote it.”

He watched with me as my numbers rose on Amazon, and was my total champion. He has always been and wanted me to be a writer since he gave me a copy of “A Tree Grows In Brooklyn” as a child, likening me to Francie.

A fiction writer I’m not, but when he said, “Your mother thought this would have happened 30 years ago,” I felt good, not bad. It’s never too late to please your parents. Dead or alive, in my opinion.

Why thank you, Bill! But I left out when my nephew’s underdog baseball team went on to win the championship a couple weeks ago–my dad wasn’t there but I just know that as a pitcher, coach, and umpire, he was thrilled to pieces.

In maybe 2018, about ten years after my dad had passed, I was in my parents house getting nice wooden shutters installed inside on the windows. A woman who was my mother’s caretaker told me she could see a man in the room who was overseeing everything the workmen did. He watched everything intently. I’m positive it was my dad because he was a carpenter and did so much building and work on our house. My mom believed her and it made her very happy that my dad was watching over her. So there’s that. I’m thankful I don’t see any departed people. I talk to them and they do not answer, which works well for me.

I LERV this. It is so likely true. I’m reading a book called We Never Die by psychic medium Matt Fraser who talks about same. I’m not crazy about the actual writing in books by celebrities, but the content is interesting, BEATLE!
